- Kyoto City Traditional Crafts Liaison Party celebrates its 40th anniversary
Kyoto has many traditional industries with a long history and tradition. Among them, small-scale industries that cannot be designated as the “Act on promotion of traditional craft industry” are scattered throughout Kyoto City in order not to meet the production area size requirements. Kyoto City Traditional Crafts Liaison Association organized these small-scale industries in 1982. As of Reiwa 3 years, 35 operators from 26 industries have joined, and this year marks the 40th anniversary of its establishment.
Extremely advanced production techniques such as Kineya Fushimi dolls and tea cans have been passed down to a very small number of successors and are alive in Kyoto. In addition, in order to promote and develop this, we are developing activities such as holding exhibitions and manufacturing demonstrations.
